More… The Texas Public Information Act (the “Public Information Act” or the “Act”) gives the public the right to request access to government information. The Act is triggered when a person makes a written request for public information only by delivering the request by one of the following methods to the City Secretary: United States mail, e-mail, hand delivery, or electronic submission through the governmental body's website. The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, to do legal research, or to answer questions. A person may ask for copies of the information. All charges imposed for copies or for access to information comply with the rules prescribed by the Office of the Attorney General (“OAG”).
