The City, led by urban planning consultants Freese and Nichols, developed a Master Land Use Plan specific to Garden Ridge's unique context, incorporating realistic recommendations and strategies that will help shape the future while protecting the natural environment and community character. The Plan incorporates the needs and desires of the community, business owners, and city leadership by illustrating what the community imagines for the future and serves as the City's long-term vision for growth and development.
Wastewater Master Plan and Impact Fee and Water Master Plan and Impact Fee are intended to assure the provision of adequate public facilities to serve new development in the City's service area. Street Master Plan and Impact Fee is intended to construct street infrastructure and support transportation demand created by growth and development. Impact Fees were adopted to assist with generating revenue for funding or recouping the costs of CIP or facility expansions necessitated by and attributable to new development.
City Staff and the Planning and Zoning Commission are in the process of revising our Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision Ordinance to support The Plan. For information related to building and/or remodeling, visit the Building / Inspections Page.
