Special Events

First Family Night, Friday, November 2, 6:00-8:00 pm. "Dinos and Dessert,"

Presentation by The Heritage Museum of Texas Hill Country:

Opened to the public on Texas Independence Day, March 2, 2000, The Museum boasts a site of over 350 dinosaur tracks and displays of farm equipment, pioneer and Native American history and the construction of Canyon Dam.

Join us for a fun evening all about Dinosaurs!

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION

November 9, @ 10:30 am in City Council Chambers

On this and every Veterans Day, let’s remember to thank those who served. We thank them for their selflessness, their sacrifice and bravery, and for the part they played in advancing the cause of freedom and peace. We are a better nation because of their service.

In NOVEMBER 

Card-Making Class - held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month @ 1:00 pm.  The finished products are works of art and are sure to be heirlooms.

Adult Game Night: There will be NO Adult Game Night during November.

Mondays:  PAWS-i-tive Reading:  Shiraz, the trained dog is back:  Each Monday, 3-5 PM.  Be sure to have your animal-loving children sign up.

Tuesdays: Northside Knitters bring their own handwork and enjoy each other's company while they work @ 10:00 am.

Tuesdays:  Ozobot Bits, 3:30-4:30 & 5:30-6:30 FREE! The Ozobot is a little robot (voted best robot toy of 2018) that blends the digital and physical worlds and teaches kiddos programming.  The Ozobot can identify lines, colors and codes on both digital surfaces such as tablets and on physical surfaces such as paper.  This session ends 11/13, but there will be a new one in January.  Must Register

Wednesdays: Lego Robotics, after school, 3:30 - 4:30 pm. FREE! Great technology for children This session ends 11/13, but there will be a new one in January.!  Must Register

Thursdays: Adult Coloring and Water Coloring, 1:00 pm.  This is a great time to relax and visit with other Colorists while nurturing your creative side.  (You don't have to stay in the lines!)

Bluebonnet Book Club, Right after school, 3:00-ish - 4:00 pm.  The Bluebonnet Books will be discussed along with a craft.  This club will ensure that your child will be ready to vote for their favorite book in January.  

Fridays: Storytime happens every Friday at 10:30 am.  Children will enjoy the stories, songs, games and crafts. 

Stay and Play, immediately following Storytime.  The children can play and explore while the parents and grandparents can socialize.

Pokemon Club:  Meets every second Saturday from 10:00-12:00 noon.

Lunch-n-Learns:  

           November 7 @ 12 noon,   Jewelry Making with Laura Ochoa.  You will leave with a completed jewelry project.  $10.

           November 14 @ 12 noon, People of the Land with Juli Korli, a gifted artist who will display some of her work along with stories about Native Americans.

            November 15 @ 1:00 pm, Crafting with Morena, Make a gingerbread baking wreath to make your home look bright and cheery, $15.

            November 28 @ 12 noon, How to Properly Care for My Trees,  Troy Luepke of Texas A & M Agri-Life.

IN DECEMBER

City Christmas Tree Lighting, December 4, The Library will be there with a special "post office" for children to write and mail letters to Santa.  Then, children will receive a response from him to be picked up at the Library.

Crafting with Morena, December 4, "Making Faux Winter Luminaries."  You will make two for $10.  These will be perfect to take to the Christmas Tree Lighting!

Wednesday, 12/5, Royce Goddard, “Minor Plumbing Repairs Homeowners Can Do to Save Hundreds of Dollars,” 12:00 Noon.  

  • Do you have $800 to pay a plumber when you could spend $70 and a little sweat equity—and have the job done right? 
  • Learn how to change a pressure-reducing valve
  • Change the aerators on your sink
  • A buy your spouse a nice gift with all the money you save

Wednesday, 12/12, "Instant Pot Cooking - Something on the Side,"  12:00 Noon.  This class will focus on side dishes, especially for the holiday meals.  

Saturday, 12/15, Instant Pot Encore, 11:00 am.
