Whether you are planning on building a new residence or adding a pool, storage building, replacing a fence, remodeling, etc., to an existing residence, you should review the City of Garden Ridge Building Packet and meet with the City’s Building Inspector.
We all need building codes - whether in our homes, offices, schools, stores, or places of entertainment. We rely on the safety of structures that surround us in our everyday lives. The public need for protection from disaster due to fire, structural collapse, and general deterioration underscores the need for building codes and their administration.
City of Garden Ridge Ordinance 19 governs all construction in the City, whether new or replacement, and Ordinance 13 governs zoning in the City. Each city is different and it is highly recommended that prior to planning a construction project in the City of Garden Ridge, all parties involved familiarize themselves with the City’s building and zoning ordinances prior to submitting a building permit application.
Before any construction begins, an application for a building permit should be submitted. Our Building Inspector is happy to take time to sit down with you to discuss your plans and help you have a pleasant building experience. For more information, please call (210) 651-6632.
