Mission Statement

The mission of the Garden Ridge Parks Committee is to ensure that the City parks provide the amenities that are most important to the residents, invites family use, and that a safe environment is always maintained.

Events

Annual 4th of July Picnic in Paul Davis Park.  Come join your neighbors in celebrating America’s birthday in the best small-town tradition you could hope for.  Take a look at last year’s celebration (insert link to 2017 4th of July Picnic).  You and/or your kids can decorate your car, bike, or enter your own float to win one of the “Best of” parade categories.  The kids and adults who enter the “Most Patriotically Dressed” contests make it hard for the judges to select the winners.  There will be summer food fare, a silent auction, games and giveaways for the kids, free ice cream, and face painters.  It truly willMarch.  Start refining your chili recipe for a chance to win some great prizes.  We’ll have food trucks and of course we’ll have something special for the kids.  More details on this will be appearing soon! be a day your kids will not forget.

 

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting event is held the first Tuesday in December.  Garden Ridge Elementary School students will sing a selection of Christmas carols that Santa always seems to know when to show up to hear.  Some of the areas’ most popular food trucks will be there too!  Free hot chocolate, photo ops, and of course the official lighting of the City’s Christmas Trees.  Check back here for an announcement on a special door prize for the kids.  They’re going to love it!

 

2018 will see the addition of a new event.  What could be more Texan than a Chili Cook-Off in March.  Start refining your chili recipe for a chance to win some great prizes.  We’ll have food trucks and of course we’ll have something special for the kids.  More details on this will be appearing soon!
